I have been handicapped since birth (no lower right leg, incomplete fingers on both hands). However, I have also been a fully productive citizen since age 12, when I took my first job. Now I am a university professor--)Ph.D., Princeton!) Throughout my life, I have borne a constant debt, because of the medical expenses related to my handicap--tens of thousands of dollars! For the first time in my life, after medicare "kicked in" at age 65, this burden has been lifted, because of Medicare. Are my decades of service to the community to be disregarded as my benefits will be reduced??
